Prepare for the GRE by familiarizing yourself with its content and structure. Spend one to three months preparing for the GRE.

The GRE is scored on the basis of three sections: Analytical writing, Quantitative reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. Each section is graded on a different scale. The scores for Verbal Reasoning (or Quantitative Reasoning) range from 130 up to 170, in increments of one point. The Analytical writing section is graded on a scale of 0 to 6 in half-point increments. A test taker who does not answer any of the questions in a specific measure will receive a score of No Score (NS).
