The GMAT Focus Edition is a new, streamlined version of the GMAT exam. It's shorter, with only three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and a new Data Insights section. It removes the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) essay and includes a new feature that allows you to change up to three answers per section.
The main differences are in the structure and content. The GMAT Focus Edition is shorter (2 hours, 15 minutes) and consists of only three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights. It no longer includes the AWA essay. The scoring scale is also different, ranging from 205-805, in five-point increments. The classic GMAT exam is longer (3 hours, 7 minutes) and has four sections.
The Data Insights section measures your ability to analyze and interpret data from various sources to make informed decisions. It combines the skills previously tested in the Integrated Reasoning and Data Sufficiency sections of the classic GMAT, using a variety of question formats like Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation, and Two-Part Analysis.
Our institute offers comprehensive preparation programs specifically designed for the GMAT Focus Edition. We provide expert-led instruction, tailored study materials, practice tests that mirror the new exam format, and personalized coaching. Our curriculum is updated to focus on the new Data Insights section and the adjusted content of the other two sections to ensure you're fully prepared.
Yes, scores from the old GMAT exam are still valid for five years from the test date. You can use your old score if it hasn't expired. However, since the GMAT Focus Edition is now the standard, we recommend checking with the specific business schools you're applying to for their updated score requirements and preferences.
